Review: 2018 on Goodreads

2018 on Goodreads 2018 on Goodreads by Various
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

There is no way I'm listing all the books I read or loved because they are many, but I will try to put the books that touched my heart and left a mark.

Some of you know that this been a difficult year for me but little know that it got more painful with the loss of my brother.

Everyone has a hiding where they lick their wounds secretly, mine is books.

So here are some of the books I loved...

#1 Wolfsong by T.J Klune

“I want your blood on my tongue. I want to break you open and crawl inside of you. I am a monster because of the things I could do to you that you wouldn’t be able to stop me from doing.”

description

This was my first and my last MM romance in 2018. I can't tell you how much I loved this book. It was epic.

#2 Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas

“You make my heart pound so hard it hurts, Jordan. You, your mouth, and who you are, it all makes me want to touch you. It makes me not want to stop this.”

description

Penelope Douglas not only wrote a story, she created a tornado of emotions in this Birthday Girl book.

#3 Bane by L.J Shen

“I don’t want to fuck you, Jesse... I want to fucking save you.”

description

Every book I read to author L.J. Shen finds a permanent place in my heart, and though Vicious will always remain the king of them all, Bane came forcing his way to the throne with a ferocious passion.

#4 Disgrace by Brittainy C. Cherry

“If you ever fall in love again, please let it be with me.”

description

Good God! This book made me feel things I didn't want to feel. Because believe me, if you lost a child of your own then this book would shatter you.

#5 The Peer and The Puppet by B.B Reid

“You’re a curse, Ever McNamara.”

“Then you must be the spell to break me.”

description

So lucky I got the chance to read this book which was by the way recommended to me by my sweet friend Steffi De Ceuster.

#6 No Tomorrow by Carian Cole

“You’re like my own little sunbeam.” A weak smile touches his lips. “You chase the storm away.”

description

Mental illness, drug addiction, alcoholism, abuse, heartbreak... You name it, it's here. I'm going to keep this simple and short because I swear to God, I feel like this book sucked my soul out of my heart.

#7 Absolution by Ava Harrison

“What are you looking for?”
“Absolution.”
“No one can absolve you. Only you can do that.”

description

I've read about damaged and fucked up heroes.
I know what an angsty story is.
I so feel what a heartbreaking story does, but nothing NOTHING prepared me for Jace and Sydney.

#8 Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey

“I can’t describe the way he’s looking at me, except to say it’s exactly what I’m craving. I'm a blessing, a curse, a mystery and his only means of satisfaction.”

description

This book checked all my boxes, buttons, fantasies and cravings. The relationship between Elijah and Addison was outstanding, beautiful and raw with and amount of chemistry to light an entire city.

#9 Pretty Venom by Ella Fields

I was Renee Welsh. And I was more than the sum of my mistakes.

description

This book was a page turner with an overwhelming painful story where life got in the way, broke vows and hearts and taught Callum and Renee a hard lesson about forgiveness.

#10 The Simple Wild by K. A. Tucker

“You asked why I kissed you.” I hazard a glance upward, to find his piercing blue eyes alight with heat. “And you said it’s because you wanted to.”
“That wasn’t the right answer.” ... “You have been driving me fucking insane for days and I couldn’t hold myself back for one more second.”

description

I loved every minute I spent reading this book, and though Wren ruined what was supposed to be a blissful summer night, it was worth it. Like really really WORTH it.
An epilogue is so much wanted because I feel like I really need more.

Review: Fall

Fall Fall by Kristen Callihan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Kiss Me Forever stars!!!

“We know each other.”
“No, we don’t,” says the little ice cream thief, not bothering to turn around. I lean in, the scent of girly shampoo and flustered woman filling my lungs.
“Ah, now how can you say that, Button? It’s not every day I kiss a woman and give her my cream.”

If you are following this series you will definitely know that Kristen Callihan made us wait forever before she decided to release this beauty. Don't get me wrong, I would have waited two more years because seriously, this book is worth it.

“Need is an animal clawing within me, demanding harder, deeper, more. Just fucking more.”

Kissing is fantastic. It's that little sweet connection that bounds you to the other partner in an erotic delicious way. But with Stella and John you feel like it's a four thousand dollars meal delivered by the best chef in the world. You wait for it, You savour it and you take your freaking time to enjoy all the explosive flavors. That how I felt when they finally kissed.

All. The. Stars!

“I’ve wanted to kiss you since the night we met and you stole one from me. I want to learn your flavor, the sounds you make, how you’ll move against me when I taste you.”

All. The. Swoons!

“Sex with John is feasting after a famine.”

This book was EVERYTHING!!!

A hot rock star ✔
A kiss-ass heroine ✔
An insanely awesome story ✔
A bloody explosive chemistry ✔

Everything and I mean EVERYTHING about this book is ovaries approved.

“Where have you been all my life?” A lump rises in my throat.
“Drifting.” The corner of his lip quirks.
“Well, stop. Don’t drift away.”

Just read the damn book already.

Review: Rewrite the Stars

Rewrite the Stars Rewrite the Stars by Charleigh Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4,5 stars!

“What if it’s already in the stars? You can’t change fate.”
“Then we’ll rewrite the stars.”

As soon as I saw Rewrite The Stars, I one-clicked without even reading the blurb. That's how I'm addicted to Charleigh Rose.

Sebastian and Evangeline were two lost souls that were brought together by chance but had to rewrite their fate to overcome the curse of their reality.

“Don’t go.” His voice is full of gravel and reluctance. “Why should I stay?” “Because I don’t feel like waiting another year to see you again.”

I loved this book. It was heartbreaking but also so good in a way that would warm your heart.

“His stare is unnerving. When he looks at me like this, I can’t help but feel like Sebastian really sees me. Too much of me. It makes me feel like I’m standing naked in front of a crowd.”

I want so bad to read Lathan, Eros and Tres and I hope Charleigh eon't make us wait a long time

Review: The Wrong Game

The Wrong Game The Wrong Game by Kandi Steiner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3,5 'Lists, plans and random shit' stars.

“I was going to move on. I was going to be okay. But he spoke first that day, and my plan went up in flames.”

Leave it to Kandi Steiner to knock you on your ass from the very first page of a book. The Wrong Game was a very enjoyable story where pain, hearbreak, hope and joy were mixed together.

“I love when you do that,” he whispered.
“Do what?”
“Exist.”

Gemma was a planner. After what she went through, she decided to stick to her plans, leave her heart out of all equations and enjoy the football season with a different guy for evey game, but the moment she met the sexy bartender Zack Bowen, she knew she was in trouble.

“There was something about his eyes, about the kind of heat that swept over me with that gaze. The way he looked at me, it was as if he already had me in his bed, between his sheets, one hand on my hip and the other hiking my leg up as he settled between my thighs.
He’d only just learned my name, but the way he looked at me? It was as if he knew everything — maybe even more than I knew, myself.”

I loved Zack so much. He was one of the sweetest guys I've ever read about or met for that matter. He was a softie but also cocky, determined and insanely hot.

“Ever since the night I first touched you, I’ve been dying to touch you again,” he breathed, tugging my jeans down as I wiggled to help him in his efforts. “To taste you again.”

I would recommend this book to people who are looking for a safe, sweet and sexy story with a bit of angst and a lot of plans.

Review: The Hardest Fall

The Hardest Fall The Hardest Fall by Ella Maise
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐5 roomies stars⭐

description

If I could give this book all the stars, believe me I would.

“I’ll catch you when you land, Flash. Just don’t take too much time, because I’m already there, impatiently waiting for you.”

description

The Hardest Fall was so funny and captivating it kept me awake till 3. AM. I can't tell you enough about Zoe. She was something else. She and Dylan were brought together in a so hilarious laugh out loud way.

“The first time Zoe Clarke saw me, my hand was wrapped around my dick. Unfortunately, I wasn’t jerking off.”

I loved Zoe's shyness; her rumblings and her inability to stop talking were insanely hot. Can't wait to read more from this Ella Maise as she is new to me author.

Review: So Wild

So Wild So Wild by Eve Dangerfield
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

⭐4,5 Galahad stars⭐

“You drive me fucking wild, Samantha. You always have.”

description

Wow. I'm not sure how to review this book, but if nothing else I will say that it was panty melting, volcano like hot.

“There are people watching,” he muttered in her ear. “There are men watching you, Samantha. Wishing they could be where I am. How does that make you feel?” She wasn’t sure, but it did wring a near-painful throb out of her pussy. “More,” she said. “Scott, please tell me more?”

This was my second experience with an Eve Dangerfield's book and I must say that both times she succeeded to shock me and impress the hell out of me .

I loved Samantha's wild spirit and although she made Scott's life miserable when they were kids, I couldn't but love her wilderness, sass and sense of kink.

“You coming?”
She pulled him out of her mouth long enough to say, “Yes. Scott, can you please call me names?” ...“You filthy little slut, you love taking my cock. You’ve been dying for it. This is how it should have been last night, you pleasing me like this, pleasing both of us like this.”

The kink was more than I could handle, hence the four point five stars but if you guys are ready for a journey full of heat that would challenge your limits, then this is definitely your book.

“She closed her eyes, trying to feel all of him at once. “What are you like when you fuck?”
“Mean.”

description

Wild is an addictive, steamy and abso-f*cking-lutely hot story that would leave you wanting more of it.

Review: Ripple Effect: A Novel

Ripple Effect: A Novel Ripple Effect: A Novel by Keri Lake
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐5 Ripley stars⭐

“Your sweet innocence is like a drug. One I want to abuse until there’s nothing left but the painful withdrawals and a craving to fuck you again.”

Swear to God, Keri Lake is grubbing Erotic Romance by the balls and making it her bitch, because this book was a shock to every nerve system of a human body.

“In my mind’s eye, he’s beautifully savage. Taking what he wants with the sole purpose of feeding what he craves. And I want to give it to him. I want to feed his appetite for my ruin.”

description

Even with his f*ucked up mind and cruelty, Gabriel aka Rip fascinated me because as much as he was tough, you know that if you dig deep you will definitely find a heart somewhere in his darkness.

“Why’d you come here? Huh? I’m surrounded by hell and you show up like a breath of salvation. You some kind of angel or something?”

Review: Runaway Girl

Runaway Girl Runaway Girl by Tessa Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐5 blackbeard stars!

description

“Before you tell me I’m nice for buying you wine…” he rasps into my hair. “Understand that I want to drink it out of your belly button. Want to warm it on that perfect skin, sip it into my mouth, then let it drip out all over your pussy. I’d drench that pretty pink spot real fucking good so I could push in rough.”

This book would give you all the goosebumps. It's beautiful, hot, sexy and so intense. We first met Naomi when she left her fiancé at the altar.
You would think that she' a shallow pumpered princess but wait until you meet her.

Jason and Naomi's story blew my mind and stole my breath away. I loved every bit of this book because it is insanely good.

“You want to stop tossing and turning and come claim responsibility for this hard dick, you know where to find me.”

After the Gateway Girl and The Runaway Girl, I know that Tessa Bailey is going to be one of my auto-buy authors because there is no way I'm missing such goodness.

“You curious enough about my cock to come closer, but not enough to take the pounding.”“I don’t know. I don’t know.”“It’s too big for I don’t knows, baby.” His open mouth travels up the center of my bottom, his teeth nipping at the small of my back. “You want to get off without the guilt of letting me help? Then touch yourself, Naomi. I’ll even let you pretend afterward that I had nothing to do with satisfying that pussy.””

Review: Love, Sincerely, Yours

Love, Sincerely, Yours Love, Sincerely, Yours by Sara Ney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐4 'Bang The Boss' stars⭐

“Pull your pants down, Rome. I’m about to rock your fucking world.”
Doesn’t she know?
She already has.”

Love, Sincerely, Yours was a very hot and steamy office love story, that was throughly funny and extremely enjoyable.

“Do you think it’s easy for me to get any goddamn work done when I have you strutting around in a dress like this, enticing me with your smart mouth and sassy attitude?”

With a bitchy bossman and an employee who calls his bluff, this book was epic, hilarious and insanely good. I enjoyed everything about the story especially the emails between Peyton and Rome.

If you're looking for an enjoyable office romance with a Sara Ney cocky alphas and Meghan Quinn's sassy heroines then this is definitely your book.

Review: Piece of Work

Piece of Work Piece of Work by Staci Hart
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

2 stars!

“Dr. Lyons—Court, my boss—had finger banged me in front of a six-hundred-year-old painting of Jesus.”

I enjoyed some of Staci Hart's books, that's why when I came across this book on kindle unlimited, I immediately downloaded it and started diving in the story of the Korean Dutch clumsy nerd and the Lyons.

“She watched me like a giraffe watches a lion—she was every bit as lanky and knobby as one, and I was every bit the predator she suspected me to be.”

Things were flowing so good between Court and Rin until they weren't. We first met Rin as the shy insecure very very tall intern who doesn't know how to walk or talk, who barely dates and doesn't even have the courage to put on lipstick then BOOM!

description

With an outfit from Long Cool Woman, Rin became beautiful, badass, sassy with a strong personality, curves to die for and legs for days. Did I forget confident?

“So sure of herself, her chin high, her voice steady. How in the hell is this the same girl who ran away from me twenty-four hours ago?”

I don't know about you guys, but this story wasn't for me. I will read Val and Sam's story though.

Review: Fight or Flight

Fight or Flight Fight or Flight by Samantha Young
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Bastard Scot stars!

description

“Why are you staring at me like that?"
Lifting his head away from his hand, he shrugged. "Nothing else is worth looking at when you're in the room.”

OVARIES EXPLOSION!!

You know that tingling feeling you get when you're about to do something naughty?!

Yes, ladies. That's how I felt reading the sample of Fight or Fliht I downloaded. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE BASTARD SCOT IMMEDIATELY. yup, there. I said it.

This book was EVERYTHING and why it is my first book by Samantha Young is beyond my knowledge. The Scotsman took the assholness and the Alpha vibe to an unbelievable extent.

“Oh God, yes.”
“You keep calling me God, lass, and my ego might get out of control,” he murmured. “Your ego is already the size of Mars—nothing I say can make it any worse.”

Ava impressed me. With all she's been through, she was a collected, successful and strong woman who made her place in society.

“You’re going to be as good at this as you look, aren’t you?”... “Never fear, babe. I’m about tae ruin you.”

Told you, ovaries explosion.

Most of you would question the ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars rating.

Don't get me wrong, the book was epic. The story left me breathless and heartbroken at the same time, but what didn't sit well with me is the fact that every time Caleb hurts Ava she finds excuses for him and forgives me easily. She should've made him work his balls off to get her back. NOTHING is wrong with some groveling when we hurt the peolpe we love.

But seriously, though! Read. The. Book! Because it's one of the best and weirdest enemies to lovers stories I've read.

"I hate you."
His jaw clenched, fire flashed in his eyes, and he growled, "Good."

Review: Corrupt

Corrupt Corrupt by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars!

“You may think I fuck with your head,” I said, looking down at her as I unbuckled my belt and unfastened my jeans, “but you don’t know what you’ve done to me all these years.”

I hated this book, both the story and the characters made my heart pump with eags.
I first read Corrupt on march and I admit that it was a 2 stars kind of read but then some friends urged me to give it a second try and I obliged.

I still hated how Micheal hurt Erika and how he tried to humiliate her, break her and ruin her life but I also understood the urge to hurt her for ruining his friends' lives.

I would never consider this book as one of my best Penelope Douglas books but an unforgettable, messed up, insanely hot story.

Review: Giovanni

Giovanni Giovanni by Natasha Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐5 Damaged good stars!⭐

“The thing with surviving is you have to keep doing it. Every. Single. Day.
You never beat the thing that breaks you, not really. It owns you. It’s always with you, no matter what. It becomes a part of you. Like skin. Like broken skin. Like scar tissue.”

Holy shit! This was one hell of an intense ride. I don't even know how to review such a tsunami of a story.

Forget Salvatore and Dominic, Giovanni was THE BEST.

“I don’t think I can break you, Emilia. I think you’re already broken.”

God! The amount of hurt and pain Natasha Knight inflicts on her heroine is out of this fucking world crazy.

I devoured this book in one sitting and can't possibly tell you guys how much I did enjoy it. This hands down is the best book on the series.

“I want to amend what I said,” he pauses. “I don’t want to fix you. I’ll take you exactly as you are. All the broken pieces of you.”

Review: The Truth About Us

The Truth About Us The Truth About Us by Aly Martinez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐4 stars⭐

“Lies were light and fluffy. Made to order. Easy to digest. Impossible to hold on to.
But the truth was dense. A boulder made of magnets, the Earth being the north to its south. The truth could crush a person with nothing more than reality.”

Have I mentioned how much I hate duets and trilogies?!
I remember I did. Because, God's honest truth, I always feel that there would be thousands of pages and pains before the happy sigh of a promised epilogue.

Yeah, silly..

I know, but the happy endings feed the crashed romantic beast in me and give it hope..

The truth About Us and while it's not as breathtaking as the previous book, was a piece of art that I'm so lucky got to read.

“Yes, I omitted a lot of stuff about my past and even lied to you about my motives. But every smile. Every laugh. Every kiss. Every touch. That was me. That was us. And that was the truth.”“Maybe. But that’s the thing about lies, Penn. They taint the truth until you have no idea what to believe.”

The Truth About Lies The Truth About Lies by Aly Martinez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

All. The. Love..

All. The. Pain..

All. The. Feels.. are here to play our hearts like an instrument.

description

“How do you do this to me?”“I guess that depends on what you think I do?” I asked, praying it was the same all-consuming heat he caused in me. His eyes fluttered closed. “If I could answer that, I’d know how to block you out.”

I hate duets and trilogies but sometimes, the things you hate are the most intriguing, awesome and breathtakingly beautiful things.

The Truth About Lies is another winning masterpiece added to Aly's category of awesomeness.

“Truth and lies—it was how we worked.”

It's ugly, hurtful, painful and shocking but the beauty that emerges from within, lights the darkness that comes with the lies.

“It’s just that there’s not always a lie to give. Not everything is black and white. Sometimes, the most important details are found in the gray. So, with that in mind, this is all I have for you tonight.”

“So back to this room thing. Before I say anything, I want to make sure I understand. Do you want us to share a room tonight?” ... “Or are you inviting me to your room for the night?” My stomach flips. It’s the same question but with two very different implications. I’m so turned around and confused, I’m not even sure which is which. I take a deep breath before answering. “The sex one.”

This was ridiculously hilarious, funny as hell and so beautifully written.

The Butcher The Butcher by Celia Aaron
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Big and Softy stars!

“I can’t live in a world without you in it.”
“Even if I’m married to another man?”
“Even then.”

This author never fails to amaze, surprise and sometime shock the readers with her style, kickass characters and off the charts stunning stories.

The Butcher is the 3rd book in The Protector series and to be honest, this is THE BEST.

I loved everything about David and Angel from the pure teenage love to the raw explosive one they still felt when fate brought them back together.

“Does that turn you on? That I’d happily kill, torture, or maim any man who thought he could touch you?”
“Yes,” she breathed.

This book kept me up till 3 in the morning, but believe me David Raven was totally
WORTH the sleepless night.

“You’re the only one, Angel. The only woman I’ve been with. You were my first kiss, the only kiss I ever had.”

I hope I'll get to read about Peter Raven because his boyish looks so intrigued me.

Hold You Close Hold You Close by Melanie Harlow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ feelings feelings stars!

descriptionThis is what we are. We fight. Claw, scratch, and tear each other apart. He’s an asshole and I’m a bitch. We bring out the worst in each other. It’s been this way since . . . I let him in.”

Hold You Close is a story about two lovers who were seperated by betrayal and brought back together by pain.

Ian Chance has always been in love with his sister's best friend London Parish, but when her future was on jeopardy, he backed off breaking her heart and leaving a bitter, hateful London instead of the one who was ready to sacrifice her studies for him.

Two decades later fate brought London and Ian together in a painful way that put both their loyalties before their war and taught them how to co-survive.

I loved the banter, the chemistry, the feelings that both London and Ian fought to hide and the vibe of the impossible love.

descriptionLondon is the sun, the stars, the light at the end of the tunnel that I’m so desperate to reach, but know I’ll never touch.”

Melanie Harlow and Corina Michaels did a great job coming up with a story that both swept the readers out of their feet, brought tears to their eyes and made their heart swoon with love.

descriptionYou feel like home.”
