Review: The Guy on the Left

The Guy on the Left The Guy on the Left by Kate Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All the FREAKING stars!

“There’s no story if you give up.”

I never imagined I would fall fearcely in love with a story where the heroine is older than the hero. That thing was a No No for me until Kate Stewart broke that rule and made The Guy on the Left one of the best 2019 books.

Clarissa and Troy both made unforgivable mistakes but those mistakes and those imperfections brought a love so messy but so raw and real.

“Wanting this woman is torture. Loving this woman is fucking humiliating. This shit has to end, but lately, I can’t seem to breathe without the air scraping the rawness in my chest. The hurt only fuels my anger. I’m drowning in resentment, teetering on the brink of love and hate for her. All of that effort, everything I did to earn my family, was for nothing.”

It's because of such stories that I'm so in love with books. Thank you Kate Stewart for making me fall in love with a character I thought wasn't worth loving.

Review: Getting Played

Getting Played Getting Played by Emma Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 worth the wait stars!

I want to be her everything. Because somewhere along the line—Lainey, Jason, our baby—that’s what they’ve become to me. Everything.

Every Emma Chase's fan has been waiting for the second book of Getting Some for ages. The wait was unbearable but sweetly worthy.

The story and the characters were oustanding like always. The charm and the warmth that engulfed this story were so hot they made Getting Played one of the best books Emma Chase delivered.

Review: Serenading Heartbreak

Serenading Heartbreak Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 team Petal stars!

Thus the 4 stars...

“You can’t squeeze your way into someplace that’s not ready to make enough room for you. All that’ll do is hurt.”

I am a huge fan of Ella Fields. I read and re-read almost all her books and by now I dare say that without a doubt, she is the queen of heartbreaks and angsty love stories.

“I’m going to fall.”“So fall,” he said, low and confident. “I’ll be here to help you get back up.”

I don't know how to proceed and express my feelings without spoiling the story because it would be so unfair to Ella's fans . I hate love triangles because they always put me in the middle of the storm and may be I'm the only one who is team Petal because seriously who would trade healthy for toxic.

“We don’t choose who and what we fall in love with, even when it’s a hazard to one’s self.”

Serenading Heartbreak is a book full of feelings, pain and suffering. And though I hated how it ended, I knew deep in my heart that we don't choose who we love.

Review: The Wallflower Wager

The Wallflower Wager The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Bixy stars!

“You are so maddening. You have a way of provoking me, unlike anyone I’ve ever known. It’s as though I become a different person when I’m around you, and I’m not certain I like her.” He pulled her to him. “I like her.”

The Wallflower Wager was simply perfect. The banter between Penny and Gabriel and the adorable animals added a delicious flavor to the story. There were times when my face hurt from smiling. Penny succeeded to bring the Duke of Ruins to his knees with a bunch o little kitties and a naughty goat.

Another winning book by the fabulous Tessa Dare who everytime succeeds to write fabulous books with alpha heroes to die for and swoon eorthy stories.

“You don’t understand what you’ve done to me,”he whispered. “I don’t understand what you’ve done to me.”

Review: Broken Knight

Broken Knight Broken Knight by L.J. Shen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 heart wrecking stars!

“The heart doesn’t ask for permission to feel things. It simply feels.”

When you finish a book and you feel like you really need a session with a therapist, you know that said book and said story will always stay with you and hold a part of your heart.

“Most kids liked fighting each other. Not me. I only wanted to hurt myself. When my body ached, my heart didn’t. Simple math, and a pretty good deal.”

No words would do Broken Knight justice and I don't know how I would do this without spoiling what definitely shouldn't be spoiled.

When L.J. Shen said that she poured all her heart into this book, she didn't lie because this book as angsty as it may be, it will abso-fucking-lutely rip your soul and wreck your heart.

“Moonshine,” he whispered. “You fill up the empty, dark space—like the moon owns the sky. It is quiet. It is bright. It doesn’t need to be a ball of flame to be noticed. It simply exists. It forever glows.”

If you have enjoyed Leigh's previous books especially the hotholes, wait until you read Broken Knight. This book was overwhelming, I read it twice in one week and couldn't feel I've had enough of it.

“The first words she ever speaks to me in her life, and she decides to break my heart with them. For the longest time, I wished I could unthink you. Unlove you. Unbreathe you. I think I finally can.”

Review: So Steady

So Steady So Steady by Eve Dangerfield
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nixalopolous stars!!

*ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.*

“I’ll hurt you, Nicole. I’ve wanted you for too long, too fucking bad to hold back. You let me into that little pussy, I’ll fuck you until it hurts. I want it too bad not to.”

description

Let me just take a moment to cool the hell down because this book set me on fire. Nikki and Noah were THE REAL DEAL.. The chemistry between these two totally different characters was out of this world hot and unbelievably sexy.

description

“I want to fuck you. You know why?”
“No,” she lied.
He wanted to unwrap and corrupt her, be the guy who showed her how good sex could be. What other advantage did she have over the Kellys and Daniellas of this world? He shifted, settling on top of her, one knee on either side of her hips.
“You want dick more than any girl I’ve ever met.”

I won't say that I loved everything about So Steady because there were times where I felt like I really needed to strangle the hell out of Nicole.
She was beautiful, successful, intelligent and independent yet her insecurities and the way her fiance treated her made it impossible for me to love her. Hence, the 4 stars.

It just felt wrong for someone like her to put up with such a hateful person and fight ferociously for such a doomed and toxic relationship.

Noah! Oh Noah!!

description

God how much I loved that man. I knew from the first moment I met him in So Wild that he was going to be unforgettable and unique and believe me, he is the best Eve Dangerfield has come up with so far.

So Steady is not your normal love story. Eve Dangerfield has this urge to challenge your reading boundaries, test your limits and take you to the unknown.

“Come, you filthy little slut. Come, then you can suck my fingers while I fuck your little pussy raw.”

It's also a book where you will witness two opposites unwittingly fall in love, learn how to deal with their unwanted attraction and overcome their differences.

“Kissing her wasn’t like kissing anyone else. It was like returning to a place you loved. The beach. The forests. His heart was thumping in his ears, his chest; every inch of his skin. This girl, this fucking girl.”

So Steady was a journey to embrace one's fears and insecurities and make the most out of them.

Review: The Moth and the Flame

The Moth and the Flame The Moth and the Flame by B.B. Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars!

“I love you. That means I don’t want any of you if it’s not all of you. The good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful.”

The Moth and The Flame is book 2 in a series/standalone books that should be read in order to be fully enjoyed. It's a friends to lovers story with a B.B. Reid trademark that would blow your mind and leave you in an awe.

Louchana and Wren were brought together by a snowstorm and a gunshot that nearly killed them both but sealed their friendship forever instead.

“I watch your back, and you do what I say. That was the deal.” My nostrils flared even as another part that I was forbidden to share with him gushed. “That doesn’t sound like friendship to me. Seems more like ownership.” For a moment, his eyes seemed to lose focus as he leaned in. “Well, then you’re mine.”

Lines were soon crossed and the platonic friendship was invaded by unwanted feelings that threatened both Lou and Wren's sanity.

“What have you done to me?” He growled as he cupped my breast and brushed my nipple with his thumb. I shivered wanting more. “You give me one taste, and I’m an addict. You allow me one touch, and I’m yours. You’re very cruel, Louchana Valentine.”

But....

Deception, betrayal, lies and so many destructive secrets would challenge Lou and Wren's loyalties putting their friendship, their feelings and their lives at risk.

“Why would I be afraid when I have you to protect me?” “Because someday, it might be me you need protecting from.”

Would flame bring light into Lou and Wren's darkness or would it burn them to ashes?

“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”

Review: Bring Down the Stars

Bring Down the Stars Bring Down the Stars by Emma Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars?!

6 stars?!

A bucket full of stars?!

description

No amount of stars would do this book justice. Just look at the sky and bring down all the stars you see.

This is not a love triangle or your typical angsty romance. This is a heart ripping, soul crashing story where finally as sinful and wrong as it must be, it was all you would want.

Thank you so much for writing such an amazing book and doing such an awesome job to so beautifully shatter our hearts. I just hope book two would fix ghe rippings.

I have loved you with both Hands tied behind my back Bound with pen and ink Paper and words Sealed with someone else’s name until this moment in which I am nothing but a man who loves a woman. There is nothing left to say Except to give all of my heart For you.

Review: Marriage For One

Marriage For One Marriage For One by Ella Maise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐ + ⭐ stars!

“I was Rose, and he was Jack. We were doomed from the very beginning with those names. You know… the Titanic and all that.”

Slow burn romance is not my favorite thing in the world, add 500 pages to the whole deal and you will have me running the other way.

But there is something about marriage of convenience that draws me to such stories like a moth to a flame.

“I don’t know how to do this with you. I don’t know how to be married.”I stared at the back of his head, blinking and trying to make sure I’d heard him right. I took my time trying to figure out how to answer. “I’ve never married a stranger before either, so I think we’re on the same level here.”

I've been reading since I was fourteen, and you can't possibly imagine the amount of money I spent on books that I should've been maybe spending on make up and and nail polish.

Truth be told, I don't know how to rate this book. I want to stay loyal to the trope that got me into this love relationship with reading.

So here is the thing, I'm giving three stars to the story but I'm adding a star to old time's sake. Not that my rating would make a change or a difference or anything for that matter but it would bring some peace to my nerd-ish brain.

I won't be unfair and say this was a long boring read, because it wasn't. The banter between Jack and Rose was off the charts hot.

“You look worse than you did last week.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I’m actually starting to consider keeping you around as my husband, permanently, Jack. I’m really liking these compliments so far, but I’m warning you, you can’t blame me when all these pretty words start to go to my head.”

Don't get me started on the chemistry, the feelings, and the love story between Jack and Rose because they were utterly explosive.

“I didn’t think she realized what she was doing or the fact that she was moaning and melting into me, pressing and pulling at the same time as I took her mouth ruthlessly. I’d been so hungry for her touch and taste.”

See! Definitely explosive...

It's just the length that was to much for my liking because believe me, with all the small details and the descriptions, you just get lost and distracted that you loose your focus and thus your Rose and Jack passion.

Review: Pretty Reckless

Pretty Reckless Pretty Reckless by L.J. Shen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Skull eyes stars!

“What would you have asked of me if I took the sea glass?”
“To save me all your firsts,” he whispers somewhere between my ear and mouth as his body brushes away from mine.

description

Leave it to Leigh Shen to turn a thirty something into a fictional cougar by falling in love with an eighteen years old fictional character.
description

Where to start and what to say other than this book was everyfuckingthing.
More vicious than Vicious more outrageous than Ruckus and more vindictive than Scandalous.

“you’re not my step-sibling, foster brother, or a part of the family. You’re a stray dog, last of the litter, most unlikely to be adopted, and a charity case.”

I can't even find the words that would do this book justice. I'vd read and listened to everything Leigh Shen but Pretty Reckless is hands down the best so far. Venomous, toxic and hurtful but so freaking good it will leave you in a serious book hangover.

Heart of the Devil Heart of the Devil by Meghan March
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

“I need you. My hands on your body. Your taste on my lips. Your breath against my skin. I need to feel you. Feel that you’re safe and everything’s going to be okay.”

Now I'm absolutely sure that I will devour whatever Meghan March tosses my way.

✔ A solid story: check

✔ A strong plot: check

✔ characters to die for: check

✔ A dose of suspense to keep you on your toes: double check.

With every book Meghan comes with, she comes stronger and more talented. The Forge Trilogy outweighed all her previous books making Jericho and India an unforgettable mind blowing couple, the story unique and outstanding and the side characters more interesting than ever.

“I did the honorable thing. The noble thing. And being noble fucking blows.”

The story of Jericho and India isn't a normal one. It's a story filled with loss, heartbreak and bad decisions.

Jericho and India took us in a journey where one ferociously fights for what's his even when dirty play is needed.

“You want to play dirty? Bring it on. I’m not scared of you, Forge.” She’s my equal in every way. More than I ever thought I could have. If this is my only chance at happiness, I won’t waste it. A wolfish grin tugs at my lips. “Get ready, Ace. I’m playing for keeps.”
“O h, we’re playing for keeps, all right. I’m going to own you when we’re done.”

Review: The Risk

The Risk The Risk by Elle Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Little Jakey stars!

description

“My mouth brushes over hers in a scant tease of a kiss. I think it teases me more than it teases her, though, and I regret it almost instantly because fuuuuuck, I want more. I want tongue. I want it all.”

“Again and again Elle Kennedy proves thaf she is the queen of sports romance. All I can say is I loved this book! Scratch that! I adored this book.

I couldn't get my fill of Brenna and Jake. The story was everything from funny and sexy to ridiculously hot and highly entertaining.

“Want to make out some more before we go?” Jake’s tone is boyishly hopeful. “Nope.” His gaze turns devilish. “How about a blowjob?” “Aw, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t have a penis.”

I loved Jake. He was a charming and cocky hero with a beautiful heart and a strong will, Brenna was just awesome. The banter and the sassy attitude made her an unforgettable kickass heroine.

I can't get enough of this series and as much as crazy this must look I need to read Eric's story and see him find himself.

Review: Passion and Ink

Passion and Ink Passion and Ink by Naima Simone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Forever stars

description

“Whatever you need, sweetheart.” She can read what she wants into it. Knowing Cypress, she will. All she has to do is ask, and I’ll gladly inform her I mean my body, my place, my support, my…everything.

Please don't judge, but I can't for the life of me understand why stepbrothers are a taboo. As long as there is no mixed blood, I think It's really cool. But this is how things are and most of the time people don't get what they want they just have to fight for it.

“I haven’t been able to get you out of my head. And I’ve tried.”

Passion and Ink is the second book in Naima's steamy Sweetest Taboo series. A book that would put so many readers out of their comfort zones not only because it's a stepbrother/stepsister relationship but because it deals with a much complicated and sensitive topic that's heartbreaking.

Jude and Cypress's story was sinfully delicious, shocking at some points but sexy, beautiful and so emotional.

“Make it clear, sweetheart,” he presses, his head lowering so he’s almost uttering the words against my lips. “What do you want?” I bring my arms up between us, which is an extremely tight fit. But I fist the lapels of his coat, hiking myself higher. “I want to still feel you inside me when I walk out of here in the morning.”

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a steamy hot read with a mind blowing chemistry and a tatto adonis.

“Holy hellfire, I’m going to fuck an angel. I’m going to hell.”

Can't wait for Simon's book.

Review: Sin and Ink

Sin and Ink Sin and Ink by Naima Simone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 sinner stars!

“Fascination with Knox. Crazy. Inappropriate. Forbidden.”

I've been dying to read a Naima Simone's book for so long and here comes Sin and Ink to finally pop my Naima cherry.

H. O. T

That's the first word that would come to your mind after reading this book.
The chemistry between Knox and Eden was panty melting, ovary exploding and ferociously hot.

“This Knox I’ve unleashed is wild, undisciplined, primal. An animal cut loose from his leash. And I’m its mate, bucking my hips to greet every thrust.”

Lusting after your dead brother's wife is wrong. Loving her, obsessing about her and having every part of your heart and body want to claim her is sinfully wrong, but instead of walking away, something stronger than guilt and grief pulled Eden and Knox together.

“Give me the strength, baby,” he whispers. “Be my strength to walk away.”
“That would be the right thing to do—the virtuous, moral thing....Instead, I choose to be his weakness. Our downfall.”

Review: Kiss and Break Up

Kiss and Break Up Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Dashiel stars!

“I love you.” His expression volleyed the admission, yet it still stunned me. “More than a friend should. The kind of love you fall into and desperately try to crawl out of, but it’s fucking futile.”

description

Holy freaking angst of all angsts!!!

This book was Amazing

“I don’t know what we’re doing, but …”
“But?” he asked, eyes meeting mine as he rocked into my core. I moaned.
“But it scares me.” “Good,” he bit out, his teeth nipping at my lip.
“Because you fucking petrify me.”

So strange that I know nothing about Ella Fields and yet I one click her books without hesitation and before I even get to the blurb. With only three books on my read shelf and now four I feel like I'm kinda hooked for life. So may be it's time for some unharmful stalking 😁😁

With each book this author steals a piece of my heart. After Pretty Venom I didn't think another Elka's hero would capture my heart, but Dash was everything I want in a book boyfriend.

“Flowers? Flowers die, Freckles. I’ll give you my dick. He only needs ten minutes after each round before he’s ready to come back to life.” “He?” A laugh slipped free. “You did not just say that.”

Friends to lovers stories never fail to amaze me but when mixed with a fucked up hero, a kick ass heroine and so much angst to break an iceberg I'am a goner.

description

“You’re wrong. I’ve been committed to you since before we even knew what the word meant. Sex has nothing to do with this. I’d happily only fuck you for the rest of my life, because what I do best?” I blinked away a tear as he smiled a grim, dimple-less smile and went to shut the door. “That would be loving you.”

Mr. Masters Mr. Masters by T.L. Swan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3,5 stars!

Holy freaking judges!!!

“I’m not here to romance you, Bree, I’m here to take my pleasure from your body.” He leans forward and takes my face in his hands. “And I’m going to fuck you so damn good, no man will ever compare.”

description

You will never survive the ridiculousness of this book if you take the story seriously. It's a train wreck with ethical violations, so many F bombs, a shocking storyline, a dump-ass (engineer) nanny and a pervert JUDGE!!!!!

description

I love me some rom coms, add a single brooding asshole dad to the mix and I'm a goner, but belive me dear friends, this book was something else. It was crazy af, ridiculously unbelievable and there is no way such a thing would happen in real life. Not even half of it.

“With my picture in his hand, he disappears up the hall. What the hell was that? I think Mr. Masters just went up to his bedroom to jerk off to my photo. Oh. My. God.”

description

I don't know how to describe my feelings after reading this book. I won't say that I loved the story because there were a lot of things I hated, but there is something about Julian and Bree that makes you accept them the way they are with the Don't try this at home idea in mind.

Jules Jules by Ellie Penn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Jules stars!

“I'm going to kiss you good and proper, unlike those boys you've been with in the past.”... “And every sunrise after, you'll be reminded of me.”

description

For a debut novel, Ellie Penn did an impressive work introducing Jules and Kat in a heartwarming way that captures the readers' hearts and makes them have all the feels.

description

“I collected cat videos and business cards from donut shops. This man collected posh restaurants. Our differences just kept growing.”

Jules and Kat were running in different circles but even though love found its wsy to their hearts.

I adored Jules because he was loving, passionate, thoughtful and so determined to penetrate Kat's shyness and get to her heart. Add their sizzling chemistry to the equation and you'll get an explosive story.

description

“Who’s making you wet, Katherine? Who’s making you drip like this?” He ground out. I moaned, shaking my head. “Answer me.” His touch grew fiercer. My body jerked as I cried out, “You, Jules. Only you.”

This book had everything I loved in a book. The chemistry, the characters and the story were fabulously put together making Jules an awesome read.

Review: Kill Switch

Kill Switch Kill Switch by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5+++++ stars!

description

“Can you be gentle?” she asked, tears in her throat. I shook my head, still not looking at her. “I don’t do gentle,” I said. “But God, baby, you are tearing me apart right now.”

My heart! My freaking heart!

description

This book ruined me.

R.U.I.N.E.D me.

It f@cking hurt in the all the good places and I just can't get enough. I knew Damon's story was going to be heart wrecking but I never thought in all the time I spent impatiently waiting for his story to come that the wrecking would be this damaging, this painful and this shattering.

“I’m out of my own control, Winter,” he said, not explaining any further. “There are no choices. We are who we are, and we do what we do. It’s nature. Like game pieces, I will play my part, because I can’t resist. I can’t be what I’m not.”

You would think that after reading Kai's story, there was no way you would want anything to do with Damon. His cruelty, psychopathic behavior and self destruction were horribly unimaginable but then you get a glimpse of the unlucky little boy he once was and that's it...

You fall hard...

You fall fast...

And you know there is no going back.

“Can you show me red?” I asked. I didn’t want the night to end. He paused for a moment and then whispered over his shoulder. “Someday.” “Are you still going to hurt me?” I joked. But he paused again, his whisper barely audible. “Someday,” he said.”

description

“that’s what red feels like. Anger and fury and heat and need so strong you’re a fucking animal, Winter. It’s primal.”

This book is not made for people who are looking for sunshines and rainbows, this book is made for people who roar, people who aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zones and see sensuality in its sinful moments, hatred in its ugliest shape and love in its purest form.

Review: Heartbreak Warfare

Heartbreak Warfare Heartbreak Warfare by Heather M. Orgeron
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2,5 guilty stars!

“Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.” — Michelle Rosenthal

The first thing you would notice about this book is how exhausting, heart wrecking, painful and full of injustices it was.

No one would blame Scottie for the 180° change in her personality and feelings but that doesn't mean the change didn't wrong people in her life that didn't deserve to be wronged.

“She is my mystery, my question, and answer, my wife, my reason for wanting a forever. From the minute she approached me at that crowded bar, I knew half of that truth.”

The first moment Scottie landed on Baghdad, she was taken aback by Briggs' good looks, dimple, smile and body. It means nothing because married doesn't mean blind and we are allowed to see good looking men and enjoy the show while it lasts, but the things she felt for him!! Whose were another story.

“Jesus, Scottie,” Briggs mutters. His lips are so close to the nape of my neck that his exhale is a caress and my panties flood. On edge but too far gone, I stand motionless as I wait for his next exhale.”

description

This would have been a magnificent read if I may use the term had the feelings begun after they were kidnapped and captured but I'm disappointed to say that things started long before and that in itself destroyed every feeling I would have willingly given to this story.

“In his eyes is clear evidence of everything I feel inside—lust, want, need. “Please believe me—I only came to apologize. I was out of line back there. A total fucking asshole. I’m trying…so hard with you.”

Gavin Oh Gavin! You were the exact definition of the noble man who did his best to save his marriage and prove to the world that there are out there men worth fighting for. I wish we could've gotten a full book of your story and how you found your way back to happyland because man, you deserve it but alas, the authors decided that an epilogue was enough.

4 Tink stars!

“It was never my intention to fall in love with you.”

description

My second book to Ava Harrison and another recommendation from authour L. J. Shen and definitely not the last.

“I can still feel his lips on me. Like he branded me. I’m sure he did.”

description

Intention is another devastating yet absolutely perfect story of two people who were brought together by fate's irony, challenged by life expectations but reunited by the ferocity and the sincerity of their feelings.

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but if every single one had to happen to make sure I was right here, right now, to meet you, then I forgive myself for them all.”—K. Towne Jr.
