Review: The Moth and the Flame

The Moth and the Flame The Moth and the Flame by B.B. Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars!

“I love you. That means I don’t want any of you if it’s not all of you. The good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful.”

The Moth and The Flame is book 2 in a series/standalone books that should be read in order to be fully enjoyed. It's a friends to lovers story with a B.B. Reid trademark that would blow your mind and leave you in an awe.

Louchana and Wren were brought together by a snowstorm and a gunshot that nearly killed them both but sealed their friendship forever instead.

“I watch your back, and you do what I say. That was the deal.” My nostrils flared even as another part that I was forbidden to share with him gushed. “That doesn’t sound like friendship to me. Seems more like ownership.” For a moment, his eyes seemed to lose focus as he leaned in. “Well, then you’re mine.”

Lines were soon crossed and the platonic friendship was invaded by unwanted feelings that threatened both Lou and Wren's sanity.

“What have you done to me?” He growled as he cupped my breast and brushed my nipple with his thumb. I shivered wanting more. “You give me one taste, and I’m an addict. You allow me one touch, and I’m yours. You’re very cruel, Louchana Valentine.”

But....

Deception, betrayal, lies and so many destructive secrets would challenge Lou and Wren's loyalties putting their friendship, their feelings and their lives at risk.

“Why would I be afraid when I have you to protect me?” “Because someday, it might be me you need protecting from.”

Would flame bring light into Lou and Wren's darkness or would it burn them to ashes?

“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”
