Review: Wicked Torture

Wicked Torture Wicked Torture by J. Kenner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Noah & Kiki stars!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

descriptionHe’d tasted the past last night— and it had made him crave a future.”

description

descriptionSo I’m telling you right now, Kiki, I want more. I want it all. And I’m not a man who settles. Not anymore.”

description

Everybody knows by now that second chance are one of my weaknesses. I love to live the story. I love to see it blossom, and I love to see it fight karma and get its happily ever after.

I loved Kiki so much. The intensity of her feelings and the way she dealt with her heartbreak felt so real to me. And though she sometimes drove me insane, I couldn't but respect her.

descriptionNoah had been my heart— hell, he’d been my muse. And when he’d walked away from me, the world beneath my feet had cracked like ice on a winter pond, the fissures radiating in all directions, destroying everything and sending me tumbling into someplace dark and cold and lonely.”

I can't say the same about Noah and I can't for the life of me understand how he could repeat the same mistake again. We know the tragedy he went through including the loss of his child was more than a normal person could handle, but sometimes when life gives you a chance at happiness all you have to do is grab at it and enjoy the hell out of it.

I so wanted to see Noah and Kiki getting their happily ever after. The heartache, the pain and the loss they both suffered were so much to handle.

Wicked Torture is not only about second chances, it's a mixture of emotions and feelings that would teach you the beauty of love wrapped in forgiveness.

Review: Captive: A Bad Boy Billionaire Boss Romance

Captive: A Bad Boy Billionaire Boss Romance Captive: A Bad Boy Billionaire Boss Romance by Cassandra Bloom
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Captive stars!

Book kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Billionaires, bad boys and alpha jerks are my kryptonite. I love to live their stories and see their asshole-ness in action.

Yep...guilty as charged.

description

I must admit that I had some difficulties understanding Conard's personality. The things he felt for Maya confused the hell out of me, even the reasons he gave for calling her in the first place were unconvincing and weird.

I couldn't place this story.

description

I didn't know if the thing between Maya and Conard was insta-love or insta-lust because they went at it like there would be no tomorrow. I didn't even know when things started to feel real.

I really want to say that it's not the book, it's me but then I would be lying because I couldn't for the life of me connect with the characters or understand what was going on.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Review: Bad Habit

Bad Habit Bad Habit by Charleigh Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 bad habit stars!

Bad Habit is the kind of book that made me fall in love with reading!! Second chances have such a power over my heart because...
descriptionSecond chances are not given to make things right, but are given to prove that we could be better even after we fall.

This is a messed up story with a challenging hero and an off-limits heroine that would make the book look so forbidden and gross.

But...

description

And...

description

The age gap and the first kiss would definitely be a dnf for some readers but as much as weird and forbidden this story may look, it was raw, emotional, so real and so beautiful it hurt.

descriptionThis, right here, is what I was trying to avoid. But, what I feel for Briar transcends logic, rules, and societal norms. She’s so deeply ingrained in me, that I’m not even me without her. My best side was her worst creation.”

From the first chapter, I knew that this author got herself a new fan because everything in this book was fabulous from the story and the characters to the beautiful ending.

descriptionI loved you even when I hated you. And that’s how I knew I didn’t hate you at all.”

Review: Thirty Day Boyfriend

Thirty Day Boyfriend Thirty Day Boyfriend by Whitney G.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 secret love stars!

description

“You should really join me right now.”
“I really shouldn’t.”
“Are you scared I’ll finally tempt you to fuck me?”
“I’ve been tempted to fuck you since the day we met. So, when I do finally fuck you, I would prefer if you had all your energy.” ... “You’re going to need it.”

Thirty Day Boyfriend is another book that shows how talented, witted and hugely skilled Whitney Garcia is.

Some would find this book so cliched because of the fake fiancee theme but believe me Whitney G. is one of those authors who would take a cliché and make a success out of it.

Thirty Day Boyfriend was a funny, sexy and so entertaining story, and though it was too short to satisfy my Nicholas craving and enjoyed every bit of it.

Review: Drive

Drive Drive by Kate Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 heart ripping stars!

Before I purchased this book, I read some reviews because I really wanted to see what I'm getting myself into.

All the reviewers agreed that Drive was heartbreaking, full of angst, made most of the readers 'ugly' cry and the worst of all, it's a "love-triangle" story which is a deal breaker for me

And though I knew that Drive would be more than I could handle, I went for it, and here I am, nursing a broken heart and feeling like I need to crawl out of my skin to undo the hurt I felt living the story of Stella, Nate and Reid.

Drive was...

Love

descriptionLove doesn’t die, even when you stop feeding it. There is no expiration date on the ache of missing someone you shared your heart, life, and body with.”

Heartache

descriptionWhat was it about a woman’s psyche that refuses to let us ignore the old aches, the ancient pains, and the memories of the men we bind ourselves to?

Music.

descriptionEveryone, at some point in their life, breathes and grieves through song, but for me, it was daily therapy.

Confusion.

description“You fuck me up, here,” he said hoarsely, and then put my hand flat on his chest and wordlessly pressed it there. Gripping the hem of my T-shirt, he tossed the material onto my chest before he ripped away my shorts and ruined panties. “You exhaust me. You make me tired, Stella, so fucking tired. I want you and I want to do it right, but I’m so annoyed right now. All I want to do is make you wet and fuck you until it hurts.”

God, this story so messed up, so confusing but so beautiful it hurt.

Review: Hard Wood

Hard Wood Hard Wood by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Zeus stars cos-he-was-the-star!

description

When you match Ms. Lauren Blakel' alphas, Sebastian York' husky voice and those sexy covers designers you will get an explosion of beauties.

description

Hard Wood is the last book in this more than amazing rom com series. I won't say that Patrick was my best book boyfriend because Nick was always the one for me but he was the most generous and loving man I've seen in this series. What I loved most about Patrick is that he went shamelessly for what he wanted... and that was Mia.

Looking forward to the upcoming releases.
