Review: Jules

Jules Jules by Ellie Penn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Jules stars!

“I'm going to kiss you good and proper, unlike those boys you've been with in the past.”... “And every sunrise after, you'll be reminded of me.”

description

For a debut novel, Ellie Penn did an impressive work introducing Jules and Kat in a heartwarming way that captures the readers' hearts and makes them have all the feels.

description

“I collected cat videos and business cards from donut shops. This man collected posh restaurants. Our differences just kept growing.”

Jules and Kat were running in different circles but even though love found its wsy to their hearts.

I adored Jules because he was loving, passionate, thoughtful and so determined to penetrate Kat's shyness and get to her heart. Add their sizzling chemistry to the equation and you'll get an explosive story.

description

“Who’s making you wet, Katherine? Who’s making you drip like this?” He ground out. I moaned, shaking my head. “Answer me.” His touch grew fiercer. My body jerked as I cried out, “You, Jules. Only you.”

This book had everything I loved in a book. The chemistry, the characters and the story were fabulously put together making Jules an awesome read.

Review: Kill Switch

Kill Switch Kill Switch by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5+++++ stars!

description

“Can you be gentle?” she asked, tears in her throat. I shook my head, still not looking at her. “I don’t do gentle,” I said. “But God, baby, you are tearing me apart right now.”

My heart! My freaking heart!

description

This book ruined me.

R.U.I.N.E.D me.

It f@cking hurt in the all the good places and I just can't get enough. I knew Damon's story was going to be heart wrecking but I never thought in all the time I spent impatiently waiting for his story to come that the wrecking would be this damaging, this painful and this shattering.

“I’m out of my own control, Winter,” he said, not explaining any further. “There are no choices. We are who we are, and we do what we do. It’s nature. Like game pieces, I will play my part, because I can’t resist. I can’t be what I’m not.”

You would think that after reading Kai's story, there was no way you would want anything to do with Damon. His cruelty, psychopathic behavior and self destruction were horribly unimaginable but then you get a glimpse of the unlucky little boy he once was and that's it...

You fall hard...

You fall fast...

And you know there is no going back.

“Can you show me red?” I asked. I didn’t want the night to end. He paused for a moment and then whispered over his shoulder. “Someday.” “Are you still going to hurt me?” I joked. But he paused again, his whisper barely audible. “Someday,” he said.”

description

“that’s what red feels like. Anger and fury and heat and need so strong you’re a fucking animal, Winter. It’s primal.”

This book is not made for people who are looking for sunshines and rainbows, this book is made for people who roar, people who aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zones and see sensuality in its sinful moments, hatred in its ugliest shape and love in its purest form.

Review: Heartbreak Warfare

Heartbreak Warfare Heartbreak Warfare by Heather M. Orgeron
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2,5 guilty stars!

“Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.” — Michelle Rosenthal

The first thing you would notice about this book is how exhausting, heart wrecking, painful and full of injustices it was.

No one would blame Scottie for the 180° change in her personality and feelings but that doesn't mean the change didn't wrong people in her life that didn't deserve to be wronged.

“She is my mystery, my question, and answer, my wife, my reason for wanting a forever. From the minute she approached me at that crowded bar, I knew half of that truth.”

The first moment Scottie landed on Baghdad, she was taken aback by Briggs' good looks, dimple, smile and body. It means nothing because married doesn't mean blind and we are allowed to see good looking men and enjoy the show while it lasts, but the things she felt for him!! Whose were another story.

“Jesus, Scottie,” Briggs mutters. His lips are so close to the nape of my neck that his exhale is a caress and my panties flood. On edge but too far gone, I stand motionless as I wait for his next exhale.”

description

This would have been a magnificent read if I may use the term had the feelings begun after they were kidnapped and captured but I'm disappointed to say that things started long before and that in itself destroyed every feeling I would have willingly given to this story.

“In his eyes is clear evidence of everything I feel inside—lust, want, need. “Please believe me—I only came to apologize. I was out of line back there. A total fucking asshole. I’m trying…so hard with you.”

Gavin Oh Gavin! You were the exact definition of the noble man who did his best to save his marriage and prove to the world that there are out there men worth fighting for. I wish we could've gotten a full book of your story and how you found your way back to happyland because man, you deserve it but alas, the authors decided that an epilogue was enough.

Review: intention: a novel

intention: a novel intention: a novel by Ava Harrison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Tink stars!

“It was never my intention to fall in love with you.”

description

My second book to Ava Harrison and another recommendation from authour L. J. Shen and definitely not the last.

“I can still feel his lips on me. Like he branded me. I’m sure he did.”

description

Intention is another devastating yet absolutely perfect story of two people who were brought together by fate's irony, challenged by life expectations but reunited by the ferocity and the sincerity of their feelings.

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but if every single one had to happen to make sure I was right here, right now, to meet you, then I forgive myself for them all.”—K. Towne Jr.
