Review: The Butcher

The Butcher The Butcher by Celia Aaron
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Big and Softy stars!

“I can’t live in a world without you in it.”
“Even if I’m married to another man?”
“Even then.”

This author never fails to amaze, surprise and sometime shock the readers with her style, kickass characters and off the charts stunning stories.

The Butcher is the 3rd book in The Protector series and to be honest, this is THE BEST.

I loved everything about David and Angel from the pure teenage love to the raw explosive one they still felt when fate brought them back together.

“Does that turn you on? That I’d happily kill, torture, or maim any man who thought he could touch you?”
“Yes,” she breathed.

This book kept me up till 3 in the morning, but believe me David Raven was totally
WORTH the sleepless night.

“You’re the only one, Angel. The only woman I’ve been with. You were my first kiss, the only kiss I ever had.”

I hope I'll get to read about Peter Raven because his boyish looks so intrigued me.

Review: Hold You Close

Hold You Close Hold You Close by Melanie Harlow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ feelings feelings stars!

descriptionThis is what we are. We fight. Claw, scratch, and tear each other apart. He’s an asshole and I’m a bitch. We bring out the worst in each other. It’s been this way since . . . I let him in.”

Hold You Close is a story about two lovers who were seperated by betrayal and brought back together by pain.

Ian Chance has always been in love with his sister's best friend London Parish, but when her future was on jeopardy, he backed off breaking her heart and leaving a bitter, hateful London instead of the one who was ready to sacrifice her studies for him.

Two decades later fate brought London and Ian together in a painful way that put both their loyalties before their war and taught them how to co-survive.

I loved the banter, the chemistry, the feelings that both London and Ian fought to hide and the vibe of the impossible love.

descriptionLondon is the sun, the stars, the light at the end of the tunnel that I’m so desperate to reach, but know I’ll never touch.”

Melanie Harlow and Corina Michaels did a great job coming up with a story that both swept the readers out of their feet, brought tears to their eyes and made their heart swoon with love.

descriptionYou feel like home.”

Review: Unbreak My Heart

Unbreak My Heart Unbreak My Heart by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ heartbreaking stars!

description

descriptionWhen she kisses me, my world spins on its axis. When she ropes her hands in my hair and pulls me closer, I’m home.

This book was so emotional it breaks the heart. The pain Andrew endured after losing his brother was emotionally draining.

I admit that Andrew was my least favorite of all Ms. Lauren's heroes, but I can't deny that he grew on me and I felt his pain and his determination to find unanswered questions and accept his late brother's choices.

Review: The Knight

The Knight The Knight by B.B. Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ sinful stars!

This book broke every taboo record known to taboos. There were times where I questioned the author's sanity to come up with such fucked up peolpe. I wanted so bad to have a cup of coffee with her and see how she could come up with these characters.

Main (Mayn) was not your kinda sassy girl, she was ferocious, venomous and so thirsty for blood.

Angel, I still don't get why the author chose such a sweet name for someone like Angel Knight. He was the definition of evil. I'm a sucker for assholes and Alpha heroes but this man was way too much.

This should've been a one star read because seriously who would enjoy such insanity. But because I am a pervert, I had to give ipthis duet 4 stars and between us I did enjoy most of it.

Of course looking forward to Z and Lucas stories, those assholes grew on me.

Review: It's Not Over

It's Not Over It's Not Over by Grahame Claire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Fight for me” stars!

“I don’t need a fucking white knight on a horse. I can save my own ass, and I can buy my own flowers. The only thing I want is you.”

To know that this was a debut was a hell of a surprise because the story building, the plot, the suspense, the chemistrey between the H/h and the stunning characters all screamed professional.

I loved everything about this story, and though the angst was at its highest levels that I was tempted to check up the ending and put my heart out of its misery, I survived this story with a happy sigh.

I loved Vivian. She was a fighter, a good hearted yet stubborn woman who showed her love with ferocity.

“I love you so much I’ve forgotten everything else. There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do for you, Daniel. Don’t forget that.”

I didn't agree with how Daniel handled things because when in a relationship it's not your place to decide how things should go but again that was the only way he knew how to keep his promise.

“Daniel?”
“What?”
“I need you to make me a promise.”
“I don’t know if I can, but I’ll try.”
“No matter what, you will fight for me. For us. I can’t be with someone who won’t do that.” He cupped my face, his solemn eyes looking deep into mine. “That’s a promise I can easily make.”

This was a really enjoyable story filled with tension, hot scenes and angst to last a lifetime but good all the way. I can't wait to read Muriella and stone's story.

Review: The Simple Wild

The Simple Wild The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yeti stars!

“You asked why I kissed you.” I hazard a glance upward, to find his piercing blue eyes alight with heat. “And you said it’s because you wanted to.”
“That wasn’t the right answer.” ... “You have been driving me fucking insane for days and I couldn’t hold myself back for one more second.”

Me, right now...

Seriously, goodreads.com!

Where have you been hiding this author from me?!!!

Because she is ...

And this book is just wow!

I laughed, I cried, I swooned. But man, did this story hurt?

I loved every minute I spent reading this book, and though Wren ruined what was supposed to be a blissful summer night, it was worth it. Like really really WORTH it.
I wish there is an expanded epilogue or another book where we get to meet Jonah and Calla again because I feel like I really need more.

Review: Pretty Venom

Pretty Venom Pretty Venom by Ella Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ damaged stars!

descriptionI was Renee Welsh. And I was more than the sum of my mistakes.

It seems like cheating is no longer one of my deal breakers because as much as I hate it, I find myself reading more about it. The irony, though? I end up enjoying every book.

So, yeah! I'm the messed up in this hate/relationship.

Pretty Venom is book three in Ella Fields (Gray Springs University) series and if you guys read the pervious books, you'll definitely have met Callum by now. Surprise! He's not the man you guys thought he was.

description The problem with not liking someone was that it could consume you. Eat at your mind like a parasite that wouldn’t die, no matter how many different ways you tried to crush it.

Yes, that's how it began between Callum and Renee until the hate faded into the background and was replaced with other beautiful feelings.

description I could stare at you all day, every day, for the rest of my life and still feel my heart race every time.

And then life happened and promises were broken leaving behind a pile of mistakes that are not easily forgiven nor forgotten and the beautiful feelings were soon replaced with toxic ones.

description He might have been the sun I couldn’t help but orbit around, but he didn’t warm me anymore.

This was a page turner, an overwhelming painful story where life got in the way, broke vows and hearts and taught Callum and Renee a hard lesson about forgiveness.

Review: Bittersweet Always

Bittersweet Always Bittersweet Always by Ella Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Million yeahs" stars!

“You invaded something inside me the minute I saw you, and you haven’t left since.”

This book was so overwhelming that I felt my heart squeeze with pain.
With a bipolar sister, I know how it can be hard and challenging to convince her to take the pills, deal with her moods and help her control the anger.

I loved this book because it affected me and gave me hope that people with mental illness get over their demons.

Presenting a character with a mental illness in such a skilled, beautiful and so natural way proves that Ella Fields knows what she's doing and doing it pretty well.

Pippa and Toby's story wasn't an easy one because when you choose someone with such a challenging illness, you have to know that there would be ups and downs and only love and patience would help you go through it.

“I want you to breathe me, to inhale to thoughts of me, and for you to exhale anything that stops me from overtaking every part of you. I want …” His breath stuttered, head rising to rest his forehead on mine. “To do to you exactly what you’ve done to me.”

Review: The Peer and the Puppet

The Peer and the Puppet The Peer and the Puppet by B.B. Reid
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“You’re a curse, Ever McNamara.”...“Then you must be the spell to break me.”

So lucky to have the chance to read this book which was by the way recommended to me by my sweet friend Steffi De Ceuster.

Thank you Steffi!

The Peer and The Puppet was my first book by author B. B. Reid and as much as I feel betrayed to just discover her, I'm happy I finally did.

description

“How did I put into words that the mere thought of her not breathing the same air as me made me a little less desperate for my next breath?”

Four and Ever's story was by far one of the best 2018 reads. I loved their messed up lives, their banter, their journey towards healing and the uncontrolled things they felt for each other.

“I hate you,” I said with all the fervor I could muster. “No, Four. You only wish you did.”

Looking forward to more of this story, I just hope it won't take too long because let's just say that me and the waiting don't get along well.
