Review: Signed

Signed Signed by Marni Mann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sign me too stars!

This book was *scandalously* incredible.

descriptionIf sex had a sound, it was Brett’s tone.”

description

Signed is my first book by Marni Mann and it's one of the best reads so far. Had I known that she's this great, she'd have been one of my auto-buy authors since forever.

First let's start with that cover and that beard...

description

description

A sex tape is every person's nightmare, but when a celebrity is involved it's a destructive scandal more than a nightmare.

Recovering from her breakup, celebrity James Ryne thought that life finally smiled at her when she met the insanely hansome Brett. But since karma is bitch, everything in America's sweetheart will be ruined the moment her one-night stand/ rebound leaked their night together.

Struggling to find help after being abandoned by her agent, James never thought she would come face to face with Brett, the man who gave her the best sex of her life then broke her heart. The man who was also the owner of The Agency but lied and said he was a lawyer.

descriptionDid you fuck me that night just to get my business?” My rage tripled hers. I shoved myself away from the table, and by the time I reached her, she’d turned toward the windows again. My arms surrounded hers in a cage, my face dipping into her hair—the same way I had when we met, except I was behind her now. “Get that out of your head,” I barked, my teeth tight, my words commanding. “Every look you gave me at the bar, every word you said to me, every minute of silence that passed between us made my dick that much harder. I couldn’t stop touching you, and I didn’t want to. And I didn’t want the night to end without my tongue licking your cunt. That’s why I fucked you, James.”

Now both Brett and James have to fight their attraction and focus on James's reputation and how to get her back to the industry. But how are they going to focus on anything while all they wanted was to explore their chemistry.

descriptionHer cheeks were mine. Her lips, too. Only my fingers were allowed to graze them. Only my mouth was allowed anywhere near them.”

I highly recommend this book to whose who love alpha hero-holes, celebrity scandals and a swoony HEA.

Review: Hidden Seams

Hidden Seams Hidden Seams by Alessandra Torre
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hidden stars!

descriptionShe walks by me, moving through the crowd and to the door, and there is a moment when I wonder how I’ve lived without her.

I was going to give this book 4 stars because Marco tested my patience, but then I got to the epilogue and *Oh! LeSigh*

I thought that The Ghostwriter was complicated but then Alessandra dropped this bomb on our hearts and here is the definition of complication.

This story was totally insane. And while some would hate Marco's greedy and mean personality, I saw him as a desperate man who lost so much to gain nothing.

description“If you’re looking to hire me, and a condition of that employment is to be one of your fuck toys, I won’t.....
He smiles. “I don’t want your cock, Marco. Just your talent and intelligence.
He was right. His company was the place for me. And I came, without hesitation or negotiation. But he was also wrong. I did become his fuck toy, in name, if not in action. It took a year of friendship to build up to it, but it eventually happened, and when it did—everyone knew.

Thank you Alessandra Torre for bringing to life this beautiful piece of art and thank you for making it so real, so raw and so emotional.

Review: Thrive

Thrive Thrive by Aly Martinez
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

DNF

description

You know when you're the only person who doesn't see the beauty of a book while others keep praising it...

God! I feel like I really need to hide..

Me right now!

description

I like author Aly Martinez a lot, and though Thrive was a book full of wrongs, bad choices and hard limits especially cheating which I HATE, I couldn't pass out the opportunity to read it.

I just wished it would be worth the painful sacrifice.

It WASN'T!

Kurt and Jeremy were best friends until Mira.

“I didn’t think I could take her. I had taken her. Numerous times. And, right then, I wasn’t leaving until I’d taken her from him permanently. Yeah. I knew the rules. Technically, you weren’t supposed to fall in love with your best friend’s girl. But, if we’re talking technicalities, he wasn’t supposed to be cheating on her every time his dick got hard, either.”

In another life she was supposed to meet Jermey first.
In another life she was supposed to fall in love with him first.
In another life they would have been soul mates.

What are again the reasons why they aren't together in this life?!

No body knows.

I wanted to like and finish Thrive no matter what, but when the story became too much for me to handle, I put it down, made some tea and moved on.

description

Why I hated Thrive!

✔ Kurt was in love with Mira but cheated on her EVERY weekend!

Can you believe that?

✔ Mira was in love with Kurt but cheated on him with his best friend Like EVERY day.

How is that supposed to make me LOVE her?

✔ Kurt is Jermey's BEST friend but this wasn't enough for him to not cheat on his friend and sleep with his girlfriend for six WHOLE months.

Hello frienship!

✔ Mira was brutally abused by her Mom's boyfriend but was totally ok with it! In her defence she didn't have a place to stay.

“I rolled my eyes. “Could you possibly be a little more dramatic here? He slapped me.”

What drove me up a wall is that her loving boyfriend was okay with the bruises on her face and body.

Yeah, you heard right!

This review reflects my thoughts/point of view about the book. I like Aly Martinez. I love her books, and though this book didn't work for me I will definitely read her upcoming releases.

Review: Midnight Blue

Midnight Blue Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Alex is THE SH*T stars!

description

description

“When I finally lay my hands on you—and make no mistakes, Stardust, I will—you will be crying, all right. My name. Over. And. Over. Again.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I thought that there would be no one as strong, troubled and bad as Baron Spencer but here is Alex Winslow, breaking hearts and shattering souls with a dark empty heart, a painful smile and a broken childhood.

“Alex Winslow was beautiful in a way storms were—only from afar. Just like them, he had the power to sweep and ruin you, two things I was too busy surviving to entertain.”

If only I can give Midnight Blue all the stars it deserves!!

Midnight Blue opens to Alex Winslow a famous, arrogant so broken British rockstar going on a worldwide tour to get himself back on truck after the humiliating failure of his album "Cock my Suck."

In need for an assistant aka baby sitter/nanny to keep him in line after rehab, Winslow's PA couldnt find better than the sassy Indigo Bellamy. Innocent and vulnerable but also ferocious and determined.

Two troubled empty souls on a three-month journey to tour the world were brought back to life through music..

description

“You chased my muse away.” My tone was low, lazy, and sort of psychotic. Even to my own ears. “And?” She didn’t bother turning around. “And now you owe me. So it’s a good thing you’re in my possession.”“Your possession?” she echoed, incredulous. “I’m not your anything, Winslow.”“You are. For three months. I have a signed contract to prove it, and now I’m going to take what’s inside you and put it in my notebook, because I’m empty and you’re full.”

Then by friendship and some feelings none was waiting for.

description

“What was it about her that felt like home? It was senseless. I didn’t even fucking like home. I didn’t fucking have a home.”

L. J. Shen... AgainYou blew my mind, broke my heart and gave me a book I will keep re-reading non stop.

Whore Whore by Willow Aster
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

Book kindly provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Dnf at 24%

I want to say that it's me and not the book, but then it would be a big FAT lie.

Whore, an intriguing title that not many readers would want or may be dare unwrap its story, but I so wanted to.

description

When the ARC landed on my kindle, I was really really eager to read it. But I need someone to tell me what the hell was in there!!

description

To read a book and really like it, things should start from the main characters to the story and then the author's choice of the ending. (That's how I judge books).

How am I going to love a heroine who even whoring is too good for her? Or how am I going to feel sorry for her when after nearly being shot all she was thinking about is when to spread her legs for Soti?

description

It's been SIX days since I was forcing myself to finish this book but I just couldn't. However there are people who really enjoyed the story and gave it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. So there are books that don't work for some but are winners to others..

Review: The Brightest Sunset

The Brightest Sunset The Brightest Sunset by Aly Martinez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.... All the stars!

“When I broke, Porter was there to pick up the pieces.
And, when Porter lost sight of the light, I was there to hold him in the darkness.
No questions.
No judgements.
No faking it.
No apologies.”

This is the second and last book in the The Darkest Sunrise series or duet in this case. I knew that this book would be more heartbreaking than the first one because if you guys read my review of The Darkest Sunrise you would understand what I went through and how it affected me.

As much as this story was amazing, it was heartbraking it hurt. I know that Aly Martinez always does things to my heart when I pick one of her books, but this one broke my heart beyond repair. And I must admit that this was the only time I wished I was a fictional character so that I would have the happily ever after I so much craved.

Review: Don’t Go

Don’t Go Don’t Go by Alexa Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ don't hit it and quit it stars!

“What do you want?” ... “You.”
His voice is deep and filled with certainty. It’s like he’s been waiting on me to ask the question, and the answer takes me by surprise. My heart flutters. “You shouldn’t be here.” ... “There isn’t any other place I should be,”

This was a good story. A really really good story. Don't Go is book #3 in the (For You) series and I think it's the best one so far.
Mixed with the magical Alexa Riley glow, the story of Kory and Henry was a beautiful journey toward a happily ever after epilogue that warms the heart and bring tears to the eyes.

description

“Three thousand seven hundred and twelve,” he whispers, then stares into my eyes. “That’s how many days I had to tell myself that it wasn’t real. And then today, I kissed you, and I knew it was all a lie.”

If you're looking for a safe read with so much heat, love and a beautiful HEA, then you should definitely try this book out. You won't regret it.

I came across this comic by accident and decided to give it a try. It's been like ages since I read a comic but I think that Sarah's Scribbles are going to get me back to this genre.

Herding Cats deals with so many obstacles that face people throughout their life in a funny comical way.

The advices around the end of the book were so inspiring and great.

Review: Roomies

Roomies Roomies by Christina Lauren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book kindly provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ convenient stars!

It's been a long time since I read any of Christina Lauren's books, but when I saw ROOMIES on Netgalley and read the blurb, I knew the book was mine. When it landed on my kindle I was like...

description

Marriage of convenience was one of my teenage fantasies. Who wouldn't want to read about an arranged marriage where the H/h fall in love against their will.

description

Roomies was a real strong book with mixed emotions where you would laugh out loud one moment and cry your tears out the other. I loved that the story wasn't about sex or nine inch d*cks. It's a story that you would feel in your heart, see it blossoming and pray for it to get its chance at happiness.

Review: Sinful Empire

Sinful Empire Sinful Empire by Meghan March
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sinful stars!

descriptionLife taught me not to get attached to a single fucking thing, because nothing in this world is permanent.
Everything is temporary. I no longer accept that when it comes to her. She’s mine. She’s staying mine. Even my black heart couldn’t handle losing her. I will keep her safe with my very last breath, if necessary.

Sindul Empire is the last book in the Mount Trilogy. If you've been following my thoughts about the previous books, you will know that I've been doing a Mount marathon since page one of book one.

This story sucked me in from the moment Lachlan and Kiera met in the darkness of the Kilgore distillery.
From paying her debt to falling in love with New Orleans' ruthless beast, Kiera will learn that it was never about the money.

description

descriptionSo this whole thing, from the very beginning, had nothing to do with the money . . .” My words come out awed at this ground-shifting realization. He lifts a hand to tuck an errant strand of hair behind my ear. “No, Keira. This has only ever been about you.”

I loved this trilogy. And though there are things that kind of disappointed me and answers to questions that didn't convince me, I can say this was a filthy, strong and well written story that will not be easily forgotten.

Review: Defiant Queen

Defiant Queen Defiant Queen by Meghan March
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mount is still MINE stars!

F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S!!!

descriptionI’m Lachlan fucking Mount. I dragged myself out of the gutters of this unforgiving city, changed my identity, learned to do whatever I needed to not only survive, but thrive. I became the weed that grows between the sidewalk cracks and refuses to die. I clawed my way up the ladder of this organization and took the throne by force. To the outside world, I rule through fear, intimidation, and the absolute willingness to back up every single fucking threat I make.

Yup, ladies! Ovaries explosion. I feel like I'm in a Mount marathon. Kind of devouring this story instead of reading it.

Review: Ruthless King

Ruthless King Ruthless King by Meghan March
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ruthless stars!

This is unbelievable!

descriptionWhen was the last time you were fucked by a real man? Someone who knows what you need. Someone who’ll take control from you and give you what you’ve been dying for”

Kiera found herself trapped between losing the legacy of her family and surrendering to Lachlan Mount, the beast of New Orleans.

Whoring her way to pay the debt her cheating late husband left on her shoulder was the only option that would keep both the distillery and her life intact.

descriptionYou’ve already been marked. Lachlan Mount owns your ass, regardless of whether he’s tapped it yet. No one else will touch you because they’ll want to keep their limbs intact.”

How long would Kiera submit to the beast's desires before she disappears like his previous mistresses? And how was she going to let the ruthless king touch her body and do what be wants with it?

“Rape? Who enjoys that”..“I’m going to fuck you like you’ve been begging a man to fuck you your entire life. And I guarantee while I’m buried inside you, there won’t be a single second when you feel like it’s against your will”

Meghan March nailed this story to an amazing extent. Can't wait to start Defiant Queen.

Review: Hold Tight

Hold Tight Hold Tight by Alexa Riley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2,5 stars!

“They say that like recognizes like, and the day I looked into her deep blues, I met my other half. She was my equal in every way—possibly even better than I’m willing to admit. I had to have her. Plain and simple. Too bad it wasn’t that easy.”

I was dying to start Pandora's story. I thought she would rock the pages of this book with her sass and great personality, but all I felt is the hurt my eyes caused because of the eye rolls.

description

“Royce,” she says, and there’s a catch in her voice.
“Fuck. Keep saying my name like that and it will get you fucked in the middle of that ring.” I move my lips down her neck and feel her hands go to my chest. “Or is that what you want?”

Reading this passage should've made my ovaries dance, but for some unknown reason, It didn't. I don't want to say that this was a disappointment because when it's an Alexa Riley's book you should prepare yourself for a great amount of ridiculousness.

It was love at first sight that hit Ivan and Penelope and made them realise that they were made for each other.

Who's better than your dead brother's best friend to teach you how to swim in the ocean of seduction?

At the age of twenty five, CJ was still carrying her Vcard waiting for the right guy to step in. When Graham asked for her help with his company's shareholders, CJ decided to persuade him to teach her the art of seduction in exchange for her help.

Turned out one week wasn't enough for Graham and CJ to burn down the flame but it was more than enough to teach them how beautiful they are together.
