Review: Marriage For One

Marriage For One Marriage For One by Ella Maise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐⭐⭐ + ⭐ stars!

“I was Rose, and he was Jack. We were doomed from the very beginning with those names. You know… the Titanic and all that.”

Slow burn romance is not my favorite thing in the world, add 500 pages to the whole deal and you will have me running the other way.

But there is something about marriage of convenience that draws me to such stories like a moth to a flame.

“I don’t know how to do this with you. I don’t know how to be married.”I stared at the back of his head, blinking and trying to make sure I’d heard him right. I took my time trying to figure out how to answer. “I’ve never married a stranger before either, so I think we’re on the same level here.”

I've been reading since I was fourteen, and you can't possibly imagine the amount of money I spent on books that I should've been maybe spending on make up and and nail polish.

Truth be told, I don't know how to rate this book. I want to stay loyal to the trope that got me into this love relationship with reading.

So here is the thing, I'm giving three stars to the story but I'm adding a star to old time's sake. Not that my rating would make a change or a difference or anything for that matter but it would bring some peace to my nerd-ish brain.

I won't be unfair and say this was a long boring read, because it wasn't. The banter between Jack and Rose was off the charts hot.

“You look worse than you did last week.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I’m actually starting to consider keeping you around as my husband, permanently, Jack. I’m really liking these compliments so far, but I’m warning you, you can’t blame me when all these pretty words start to go to my head.”

Don't get me started on the chemistry, the feelings, and the love story between Jack and Rose because they were utterly explosive.

“I didn’t think she realized what she was doing or the fact that she was moaning and melting into me, pressing and pulling at the same time as I took her mouth ruthlessly. I’d been so hungry for her touch and taste.”

See! Definitely explosive...

It's just the length that was to much for my liking because believe me, with all the small details and the descriptions, you just get lost and distracted that you loose your focus and thus your Rose and Jack passion.
