⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ messed up stars!

“I was scared to fall. Not down the stairs. I wasn’t scared of bumps and bruises. That had never been my problem. I was scared of falling for him when I had no right to fall. Not again.”


I swear I needed like fifteen minutes of deep breathing after I finished this book, because it really was a messed up story that had all my senses on alert during the whole ride.

“I’m old. With old people problems. And I don’t understand why you’re being so nice to me. I haven’t been that nice to you. Or nice at all really. You should be hanging out with some 23 year old girl that...”
“Now why would I do that when I could have you.”


One would think that this is an ordinary story where the hot guy mowing the lawn would meet the gorgeous beauty who runs in front of his house each Thursday, unravel some mysterious case of murder, get married and live happily ever after, but then out of nowhere a shoe box comes flipping all the cards, exposing the ugly truths and all the hidden lies.

But there is no doubt that some stories aren't meant to get a happy ending because their perfection lays in the way they break many hearts.

“I wanted him. I wanted him desperately. That was why I threw insults his way. It was easier than admitting that I couldn’t have what I wanted. I needed him to become something I didn’t crave.”
