First impression ===> I wish I could be there, riding a horse and using candles to light my nights. So romantic and peaceful.
A sweet historical love story with so much tension and interesting events.
It's the story of Robert the viscount who decided to be a jacobite and rebel against the king.
Robert had to leave Lachrose Castle and flee to Jamaica so as not to be executed. Ten years later, after hearing that things were not going well in the castle he decided to come back home and seek forgiveness from his father and the King for his youth foolishness.
When he arrived, Viscount Lachrose had many issues to deal with before he could live peacefully. He was prepared to deal with his venomous stepmother and disgusting half-brother but he was never prepared for the feeling he would feel for the redhead he saw in the loch.
Because of her uncle's gambling, Jessie and her father lost their fortune and had to work for Lord Starthburn. But soon Jessie ad to leave the castle because of Lord Starathburn ill mannered son Simon who wanted to take her as his mistress.
Meeting the gorgeous Robert wasn't on her agenda especially when he was the one who caused so much troubles in her life and heart.
Historical romance is not really my cup of tea but this one was a so sweet and interesting story that took me back to candles, carriages and horses.
