My rating: 0 of 5 stars
There is no way I'm listing all the books I read or loved because they are many, but I will try to put the books that touched my heart and left a mark.
Some of you know that this been a difficult year for me but little know that it got more painful with the loss of my brother.
Everyone has a hiding where they lick their wounds secretly, mine is books.
So here are some of the books I loved...
#1 Wolfsong by T.J Klune
“I want your blood on my tongue. I want to break you open and crawl inside of you. I am a monster because of the things I could do to you that you wouldn’t be able to stop me from doing.”
This was my first and my last MM romance in 2018. I can't tell you how much I loved this book. It was epic.
#2 Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas
“You make my heart pound so hard it hurts, Jordan. You, your mouth, and who you are, it all makes me want to touch you. It makes me not want to stop this.”
Penelope Douglas not only wrote a story, she created a tornado of emotions in this Birthday Girl book.
#3 Bane by L.J Shen
“I don’t want to fuck you, Jesse... I want to fucking save you.”
Every book I read to author L.J. Shen finds a permanent place in my heart, and though Vicious will always remain the king of them all, Bane came forcing his way to the throne with a ferocious passion.
#4 Disgrace by Brittainy C. Cherry
“If you ever fall in love again, please let it be with me.”
Good God! This book made me feel things I didn't want to feel. Because believe me, if you lost a child of your own then this book would shatter you.
#5 The Peer and The Puppet by B.B Reid
“You’re a curse, Ever McNamara.”
“Then you must be the spell to break me.”
So lucky I got the chance to read this book which was by the way recommended to me by my sweet friend Steffi De Ceuster.
#6 No Tomorrow by Carian Cole
“You’re like my own little sunbeam.” A weak smile touches his lips. “You chase the storm away.”
Mental illness, drug addiction, alcoholism, abuse, heartbreak... You name it, it's here. I'm going to keep this simple and short because I swear to God, I feel like this book sucked my soul out of my heart.
#7 Absolution by Ava Harrison
“What are you looking for?”
“Absolution.”
“No one can absolve you. Only you can do that.”
I've read about damaged and fucked up heroes.
I know what an angsty story is.
I so feel what a heartbreaking story does, but nothing NOTHING prepared me for Jace and Sydney.
#8 Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey
“I can’t describe the way he’s looking at me, except to say it’s exactly what I’m craving. I'm a blessing, a curse, a mystery and his only means of satisfaction.”
This book checked all my boxes, buttons, fantasies and cravings. The relationship between Elijah and Addison was outstanding, beautiful and raw with and amount of chemistry to light an entire city.
#9 Pretty Venom by Ella Fields
I was Renee Welsh. And I was more than the sum of my mistakes.
This book was a page turner with an overwhelming painful story where life got in the way, broke vows and hearts and taught Callum and Renee a hard lesson about forgiveness.
#10 The Simple Wild by K. A. Tucker
“You asked why I kissed you.” I hazard a glance upward, to find his piercing blue eyes alight with heat. “And you said it’s because you wanted to.”
“That wasn’t the right answer.” ... “You have been driving me fucking insane for days and I couldn’t hold myself back for one more second.”
I loved every minute I spent reading this book, and though Wren ruined what was supposed to be a blissful summer night, it was worth it. Like really really WORTH it.
An epilogue is so much wanted because I feel like I really need more.
